Apple's long-rumoured 4.7-inch iPhone 6 model will come with a 2100mAh battery, claims an analyst citing supply chain sources across China.

Earlier leaks had indicated that the alleged 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will pack a bettery capacity between 1800mAh and 1900mAh. However, contadicting earlier claims, ESM-China electronics analyst Sung Chang Xu in a reporthas equip the alleged smaller iPhone 6 variant with a 2100mAh battery. Further, Xu claimed that previous images leaks indicating the battery size of the iPhone 6 had actually shown the test units of the handset.

Unfortunately, there is no new word on the battery capacity of the anticipated 5.5-inch iPhone 6 handset. Previous leaks had tipped a 2500mAh battery to power the larger 5.5-inch version of the iPhone 6, which is also rumoured to be called as iPhone Air.

If the purported battery capacity of the 4.7-inch model, if true , will bring Apple's next iPhone into the league of Android flagships, such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 (2800mAh)

Multiple reports on Tuesday suggested that Apple would unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9. The date was almost in-line with previous leaks that pointed to a mid-september launch for next iPhone 6 models. If true, the launch date correspond to the second Tuesday of september, a day that Apple used to unveil the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s last year.

iPhone 6 Tipped Along with prices to launch on September 19

Apple's next iPhone device, expected to be called the iphone 6, has once again been tipped to launch on September 19 - this time thanks to a leaked promotional flyer from China.

The leaked images of the alleged iPhone 6 flyer was picked up by GSM Insider from a Chinese user's Weibo account, showing the September 19 launch day alongside purported pricing of both the models.

According to the leaked flyer, the rumoured 4.7-inch -iPhone 6 will come at CNY 5,288 (roughly Rs. 51,000) , while the alleged 5.5-inch model will be available at CNY 6,288 (roughly Rs.61,000). If true , this would also imply the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 (32GB) is cheaper than the current 4-inch iphone 5s (16GB) - which costs CNY 5,300.

Recent reports, in-line with the current, had suggested the same CNY 5,288 pricing for Meanwhile , the purported promotional flyer corroborate what's has been widely expected based on earlier leaks, that the next iPhone will come with curved edges and will be a major departure from the company's current industrial design on existing iPhone models. However , it is yet to be seen whether Apple will do away with its current straight-edge design seen on iPhone 4, iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.

Notably, the September 19 launch date tipped by the leaked flyer goes well with Apple's traditional start sale strategy of any new iPhone model; which crowd. previous leaks had indicated a launch date of September 19.

Apple iPhone 5C 8GB launched in India for Rs 37,500

As expected, Apple has launched the iPhone 5C 8GB in India for Rs 37,500.Already had earlier reported about Apple’s plans to launch the iPhone 5C 8GB in India and had reported about stocks being shipped into India earlier this week.

 Apple might also offer an inaugural discount of Rs 3,000 and throw in a case worth Rs 2,300 for a limited period. 

The pricing isn’t very exciting at the moment as one can buy the iPhone 5C 16GB for Rs 34,400 with a buyback scheme worth Rs 7,500. The official price of the iPhone 5C 16GB is Rs 41,900.

We expect Apple to become more aggressive with the iPhone 5C 8GB pricing. Hopefully, the company would launch a similar buyback scheme, which would bring its price down to Rs 30,000.

iPhone 6 Set to Launch on September 19

Apple's next iPhone, thought to be called the iPhone 6, is now being said to hit the shelves on September 19. 

The news coming from a German website (via Apple Insider) that claims local carrier Deutsche Telekom is telling its customer representatives the iPhone 6 has a September 19 launch date, in order to make its customers stick with the wireless provider.

However, noting that Germany is usually one of the first one of the first few regions to receive the latest Apple devices, we might be seeing the actual launch date. Moreover, it has been understood that September 19 falls on a Friday, the day on which Apple has been introducing its iPhone since 2011.

The Cupertino firm made its iPhone 4 available on October 14, 2011, followed by iPhone 5 on September 21 and iPhone 5s and 5c on September 20 last year, all of which have been on Fridays.

However, Apple has not announced the official launch date of its hotly anticipated next iPhone yet, and usually doesn't inform carriers this much in advance, leaving us to take the expected date with a pinch of salt.

The iPhone 6 has been for a while expected to come in two screen size variants, specifically with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays. While we have seen numerous leaks on these alleged two iPhone 6 variants, a fresh report from Digitimes states that Foxconn, Apple's biggest mobile device manufacturer, would be making both the iPhone 6 models.

It has been understood that Pegatron will be shipping 30 percent of the total number of 4.7-inch iPhone 6 devices while the current iPhone model orders with 4-inch screen would be outsourced to Winston. Foxconn would be manufacturing the remaining 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 variants, and is said to start supplying the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models in July and August respectively.

iPhone 6 to launch in two screen sizes in September

Apple is likely to release its newest iPhone globally in September with a higher resolution and bigger screens, Japan's leading Nikkei business daily reported Friday. The handset, expected to be called the iPhone 6 , is expected to come in two versions with a 4.7- or 5.5-inch screen, up from the current four-inch panel, the report said, without citing sources.

US-based Apple is ordering its higher- resolution liquid crystal display screens from Japanese electronics giant sharp, Japan Display and South Korea's LG Display, it added. Taiwan's Commercial Times reported earlier this month that Taiwan Semi conductor Manufacturing Co. has started producing chips for Apple's next iPhone.

Apple released its current iPhone 5 in September 2012 and newer versions in the series last year. There was no immediate comment from sharp.

Previous leaks have said the iPhone 6 will arrive with a much thinner body, a powerful processor and a higher pixel density screen. As for the processor, both Samsung and TSMC   are rumoured to be making the new A-series 'Apple A8' chips for the iPhone 6, separately rumoured to be clocked at 2.6 GHz.

The iPhone 6 is also speculated to ship with an ultra-retina display, with a pixel density of 389ppi. This round of rumoured features came courtesy Sonny Dickson, the Australian teen who rose to fame in the build up to the release of iPhone 5s with what turned out to be largely accurate leaks.

Dickson, in one of his four tweets on the subjects, also said, "iPhone 6 will be 0.22 inches thick. Other expected features include a bezel-less display, and a larger 8-megapixel camera with aperature size of f/2.0, as compared to the iPhone 5's f/2.4 and iPhone 5's f/2.2.

iPhone 5S:

So, we can say Nexus 5 a little safer in the imaging feature and the recent camera update has also fixed the issues with its exposure and colour balancing effects.

Apple reportedly working on two larger iPhones for 2014

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple are in the process of developing a pair of new iPhones with larger displays. The report suggests that the new iPhones (possibly named the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6Z) will feature a 4.5-inch display and one over 5-inches.

Both devices will be made out of metal, but will not featured a curved display as many rumours have pointed to. It is said that the smaller of the two devices is nearing mass production stage whilst the larger iPhone is still in preliminary development, so it's unlikely we'd see both released at the same time.

Despite introducing a plastic design with the iPhone 5C earlier last year, Apple is said to be doing away with the plastic all together and instead favouring a metal design for both iPhones. It seems odd that Apple would do away with a design so quickly after introducing it, but it may be down to lacking sales that they have chosen to prefer the more premium material.

It appears that Apple is finally looking to take on the larger sized Android devices that have found so much success in the market. Apple fans have longed for a bigger display that what the current iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 5C offer, and perhaps the iPhone 6 is exactly what they're looking for.

iPhone 6 to come with larger screen, due May 2014

Rumours of new iPhone and iPad models with screen larger than current ones have been doing the rounds for a while now. The latest report indicates that the large screen iphone 6 may launch sooner than expected.

Digitimes reports citing their sources that the iPhone 6 release is planned for May 2014. The publications in its report says, "Apple is also rumoured to be planning a larger size iphone for May 2014, using a 20nm processor manufactured by Taiwan semiconductor Manufacturing Company."

Digitimes doesn't any more details on the specifications for the iphone 6, except that the screen will be 'larger' than one seen on the current generation iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. We have already seen multiple agencies reporting about the rumoured bigger 5-inch display in Apple iPhone 6.

Earlier, We saw Display report analyst David Hsieh say that Apple is testing two different screen size for its next iphone. He suggested that the company is testing a 4.7-inch panel with 720 by 1280 resolution and a 5.7-inch display with full HD 1080p resolution.

The latest Digitimes report also reignites rumour of an ipad 'pro' with a screen larger than one seen in the current generation iPad Air. It says that the company is looking to target North America's educational market with its larger screen iPad. The rumoured 12.9-inch Apple tablet is rumoured to release in October 2014.

Apple is said to be Devoloping new Sensors and curved iPhones with large 4.7 and 5.5 inch displays

If rumours are believed Apple is planning new bigger iPhones with curved displays and new sensors that can detect various levels of pressure.

Two variants to be released in the second half of next year, the usual launch cycle, would feature larger displays with glass that curves downward at the edges. The new screen sizes would vary between 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches., the new models would Apples largest phones.

Samsung and LG both showed of their versions of curved phones last month, with a horizontally curved Samsung Galaxy Round and a vertically curved LG G Flex , Apple's curved iPhone may not be that far.

iPhone 5c vs. iPhone 5

Apple unveiled the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s on Tuesday. Usually, Apple reduces the price of its previous year flagship, and continues to sell it.

However, this year it made an exception and discontinued the iPhone 5, which it had unveiled in 2012. To fill the gap, it introduced a brand new iPhone, the iPhone 5c that sports a polycarbonate casing which comes in five new colours, Green, Blue, Yellow, Red and White.

The iPhone 5c is heavier at 132 grams, while the iPhone 5 weighs just 112 grams. The dimensions of the iPhone 5c are also larger at 124.4x59.2x8.97mm compared to the dimensions of the iPhone 5 which measured 123.8x58.6x7.6mm. So, the iPhone 5c is thicker and heavier.

In terms of internals, the iPhone 5c is very similar to the iPhone 5, running the same A6 chip and featuring the same 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 640x1136 pixels at 326ppi pixel density.

So, what's really different in the iPhone 5c apart from the hard-coated the polycarbonate casing which replaces the iPhone 5's aluminium shell? Well, for starters it supports more 4G network bands. A model of the iPhone 5c even supports the Indian TD-LTE Band 40 which is used by operators like Airtel for offering 4G services in the country. The iPhone 5 did not support these additional bands.

Another difference is that the iPhone 5c won't offer a 64GB storage variant (just 16GB and 32GB variants), unlike the iPhone 5, making the additional storage a premium feature that users can only get with the iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 5c sports the same 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.2-megapixel front-facing FaceTime HD camera that's seen on the iPhone 5. However, the iPhone 5c's camera has been slightly improved as it has an f/2.4 aperture, backside illumination sensor, a hybrid IR filter and the ability to zoom-in while recording videos. Even the front camera on the iPhone 5c has a backside illumination sensor for taking low-light pictures. Of course, the iPhone 5 will also get some new camera features such as live filters and a square photo mode with the iOS 7 update. These features come out-of-the-box with the iPhone 5c.

The iPhone 5c also claims to offer better battery life with up to 10 hours talk time on 3G and up to 250 hours standby time. In contrast, the iPhone 5 claims to deliver up to 8 hours talk time on 3G and up to 225 hours standby time.

Apple iPhone 5s arrives with a new light and thin design bearing a 4 inch Retina IPS LCD display. It has an A7 SoC with 64-bit support. Apple has included an 8 megapixel iSight camera with True Tone flash, and Touch ID as well.

iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c free-on-a-contract India plans confirmed by RCom

Just a few hours ahead of the official launch of Apple's iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in the country, Indian telecom operator Reliance Communications has announced a new offer through which it will offer the two phones  under a 24 month contract, and won't require consumers to make any downpayment for the base 16GB models.

Reliance Communications will offer the 16GB iPhone 5s at a monthly fee of Rs. 2,999 and 16GB iPhone 5c at a fee of Rs. 2,599 at zero upfront cost. In lieu of the fee, consumers will get unlimited local and STD calls, SMS (up to 3,000 a month due to TRAI regulations), national roaming and 3G data. There's no fair use policy and iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s customers will not receive any usage bill for 24 months, except for usage related to international calls and international roaming charges.

The 32GB and 64GB variants of the iPhone 5s and the 32GB variant of the iPhone 5c would also be offered under the same scheme though consumers will have to shell out upfront charges. The 32GB iPhone 5s will come with upfront charges of Rs. 11,600 while the 32GB and 64GB variants of the iPhone 5s will be available following a downpayment of Rs. 10,992 and Rs. 19,992, respectively.

iPhone 5s battery life issue acknowledged by Apple to be affecting few units

Apple's new iPhone 5s is courting controversy again, after the company acknowledged that some units of the phone have a manufacturing defect that is leading to the battery draining faster.
 
The Cupertino giant told the New York Times that a small number of iPhone 5s units have a manufacturing defect which is causing the issue, and that the company will replace these defective units.
 
"We recently discovered a manufacturing issue affecting a very limited number of iPhone 5s devices that could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in reduced battery life," Teresa Brewer, an Apple spokeswoman. "We are reaching out to customers with affected phones and will provide them with a replacement phone." 
 
Apple has not specified the number of units affected by the issue or the particular batch that's affected.
 
Earlier this month, it was reported that motion sensors including the Level, Gyroscope, Compass, and Accelerometer on the Apple iPhone 5s were not working properly and delivering inaccurate results. It was discovered that the readings taken with the iPhone 5s sensors were way off compared to the ones taken by the iPhone 5's sensor. However, Apple released the iOS 7.0.3 update that brought a fix for an accelerometer calibration issue. The update also improved the system stability of the phone when using iWork apps, following some reports of the iPhone 5s crashing while using the apps.
 
Apple had unveiled the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on September 10, and had announced record breaking sales of nine million, just three days after the launch of the new generation devices on September 20.
 
The iPhone 5s comes with a number of improvements including a new A7 chip that supports 64-bit computing, a faster graphics processor, M7 co-processor for tracking data from the different sensors of the phone, a fingerprint scanner on its Home button, and a much improved camera with support for a burst mode and slow motion video capture, in addition to a dual-LED flash. 

The iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c will debut in India on 1 November. The iPhone 5s will be available for Rs. 53,500 for the 16GB model, Rs. 62,500 for the 32GB model and Rs. 71,500 for the 64GB model. iPhone 5c will be available for Rs. 41,900 for the 16GB model and Rs. 53,500 for the 32GB model. All prices are inclusive of all taxes.

There have been a bunch of top-shelf analysts this month claiming that Apple iPhone 6 will sport a larger display, nearing the 5" mark, basing their predictions on supply chain channel checks. First it was the WSJ, then Peter Misek, then Brian White, then the venerable Gene Munster, and now we have a report from Japan reiterating again that next year's iPhone will flaunt a 5" 1080x1920 pixels display with 440ppi pixel density, made by LG.

The iPhone 5, claim the sources, will arrive in September, and Apple is putting a lot of thought and effort to make the bezel as negligible as possible, so as to ensure fairly comfortable one-handed operation. Of course, Tim Cook already warned that reading too much into channel checks is not advisable, as there are a lot of tests and prototype batches there. Next year is the big bi-annual redesign of the iPhone, however, if history is any indication, so where there's smoke there might be a 5" fire indeed.


Such a large iPhone would be a radical departure from everything Apple has tried with its handset so far, and the ergonomics issue will definitely be front and center on Jony Ive's desk until the design is polished. Since the chassis will have to include the Touch ID fingerprint sensor now, too, there aren't many other options to ease one-handed operation but to make the iPhone 6 as narrow and elongated as possible.

Apple is believed to have cut Q4 orders for iPhone 5c

Apple Inc has told manufacturers of its new iPhone 5c that it will cut orders of the smartphone for the final three months of the year, a source familiar with the supply chain situation said.

Pegatron Corp, a major manufacturer of Apple's new phone, had 5c orders reduced by less than 20 percent, the source told Reuters on Wednesday, declining to be identified because the information is sensitive.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, Apple's other manufacturer of the 5c, has had its orders for the same period reduced by a third, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The iPhone 5c (Review) and iPhone 5s (Review) were launched in September ahead of the year-end holiday season when sales tend to hit a peak. In the United States, the 5c is $100 cheaper than the premium 5s, which retails for $649 for the 16 GB model.

The cut in 5c orders will reinforce investor sentiment that the phone was overpriced and would not be well-received by consumers, some analysts say.

"This reflects a failure in Apple's pricing strategy," said Bevan Yeh, a Taipei-based senior fund manager at Prudential Financial Securities Investment Trust. "The price differentiation between 5c and 5s is too small. It's an iPhone 5 with plastic casing and isn't worth the price."

Spokesmen at Pegatron and Hon Hai declined to comment, while Apple could not be immediately reached for comment.

In China, one of Apple's most important markets according to Chief Executive Tim Cook, the 5c's reception has been lukewarm. Some local bloggers say the price difference between the 5c and 5S is too narrow.

Apple said previously that sales for the 5s and 5c in the first three days of their launch in September totalled 9 million, and that demand for 5s exceeded initial supplies. It did not give separate figures for the 5c and 5s.

Prudential, which does not own Apple shares, forecasts assemblers will ship around 23 million 5c units in the final three months of this year and 10 million in the first three months of next year.

Some analysts caution against correlating the cuts to Apple's supplier orders with poor sales, because of the complexity and opacity of the company's supply chain.

"We've seen this several times. There are too many moving parts in the supply chain to draw any conclusions," said Benedict Evans, who covers mobile and digital media at Enders Analysis, a research consultancy in London.

Apple's iphone 5c and 5s expected to release on november 1st.

Apple has announced that the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c will be going on sale in India from 1 November. India is part of the third phase of countries which will get iPhones. Apple in its announcement also confirmed that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available in Italy, Russia, Spain and more than 25 additional countries a week before that on Friday, 25 October. 

This is perhaps the first time that Apple has announced the India release date much ahead of the official launch. Last year, the launch of iPhone 5 saw various dates being circulated, but the phone was launched on 2 November, a little after the original predictions.

Prices for the new iPhones in India have not been revealed yet. In the US, the devices cost $649 and $549, respectively, in their 16GB variant. A report at Gizbot, which quoted a senior official at Aircel, said, “…the Apple iPhone 5c  will cost consumers around Rs 45,000, whereas the iPhone 5s 32GB will priced $100 more, around Rs 55,000.” The iPhone 5s has a 4-inch Retina Display. It is powered by A7 chipset – based on 64-bit PC architecture. There’s co-processor called M7 for motion sensing activities. The phone has an 8-mega pixel camera, dual LED flashlight, and a rear back camera that can record 720p HD movie in 120fps. The iPhone 5c has a plastic shell and has a bigger battery as compared to that of the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5c has a 4-inch Retina display, and is powered by Apple A6x chipset (dual core). There’s an 8MP rear facing camera along with a FaceTime HD camera. Both iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c support 4G LTE .
