The biggest news for the Android world, and not only, yesterday, was the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat announcement (finally!). With the new pure-Android phone, and the next version of the platform out, owners of current flagships, and not only, are wondering when exactly will they get their update.
HTC will have an aggressive stance as far as pushing out the update is concerned. According to HTC’s US head, Jason Mackenzie, the first phone to get the update, within the next two weeks, is the Google Play edition HTC One. The Developer Edition, as well as the unlocked units, will follow, within the next month, and the rest of the devices in the US, including the carrier flavors, will be the last ones, within 90 days. Aside from the Google Play edition One, the rest of the phones will receive an update which will still feature HTC’s Sense, in its 5.5 iteration, available on official ROMs based on Android 4.3.
