Resident Evil 5 replaces the previous best selling game, Street Fighter II for the Super Nintendo, which clocked in at 6.3 million units.
And of course there is Resident Evil 6, a game which everyone hates but still managed to land third place on Capcom’s all time best selling list at 5.2 million units on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It outshines the PlayStation version of Resident Evil 2 which takes forth place at 4.96 million.

In fact, the entire top ten list is made up of Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter. No Devil May Cry, no Onimusha, no Okami, Viewtiful Joe, or Ghosts and Goblins, and of course, no Mega Man. Anybody want to question why Capcom is not making these games anymore?
Any thoughts on Resident Evil 5 being the top dog over at Capcom? I’ve always liked the game but thought it lacked the soul or edge Resident Evil 4 had, holding it back from being truly great or memorable.
