The flagship smartphone of Sony was released built-in with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. There were speculations earlier that the Xperia Z1 will first get the Android 4.3 update next month, but it seems things will be even better for Sony fans.
Sony Mobile will most likely let the Xperia Z1 get the Android 4.4 KitKat first before rolling it out to the Xperia Z Ultra, and the Xperia Z. There are contradicting rumors that it might be exclusive for the Z1.
There has been no update yet from Google when the source code for the latest Android version will be released. Sony might just be preparing everything needed to welcome the KitKat version of the firmware once they receive the go signal from Google. This is the logical explanation for now unless the Xperia smartphone manufacturer already has the codes.

Google and Sony are mum about the possible release so this will be a waiting game for now. The Android 4.4 KitKat is said to bring huge updates to the operating system. Fans have only seen a few leaks about the KitKat, but the maker promises the new version of the Android to be a sweet treat. The leaks hinted of an improved dialer user interface, camera app, and a tweak for the messaging app with the spotlight pointed on Hangouts. The OS might also be optimized for phones with lower RAM so Android can reach more users.
