Like beaming music wirelessly around your house? Then have we got a treat for you. Pure’s awesome Jongo range of wireless speakers have just had a software update that gives them supercharged powers.
The new feature is called Bluetooth Caskeid (pronounced “cascade”). It lets you play music from any service wirelessly through multiple Jongos over Bluetooth. Previously, Jongos played nice with any service, but you could only beam tracks to one speaker. This update makes it a killer multiroom system.
It’s simple to use, too. Once you’ve updated your Jongos, turn on Wi-Fi on your Android or iOS device, and select the Jongo network. Enable Bluetooth Caskeid, then start playing a song
from your service of choice, whether it’s Spotify, Deezer, Rdio, iPlayer Radio, etc. Pair your device with either Jongo over Bluetooth, and it’ll start playing through both. And that’s it.
We had a play with the feature using a pair of Jongo T4 speakers, and it’s an absolute doddle to use. Sound quality was very good, though one speaker did drop out a couple of times.
Bluetooth Caskeid is now available on the full range of Jongo speakers, so the A2, S3, T2, T4, and T6.
